II. Warm — up.

Today we are having a particular day. We are going to show our knowledge in the English for you. I hope my students will be active. So the theme of our lesson is about Royal family in Great Britain. The aim of this lesson is to speak about their advantages in governing this country and to be informed about their life.

III. To consolidate the sightseeing.




Dear boys and girls look at the interactive board attentively. I am going to inform you about sightseeing of London. 1. (the picture of Buckingham palace)

-What do you think when you see this building? — It is Buckingham Palace.

-What do you know about this palace?

-Buckingham palace is the official residence of Queen. There are 600 rooms in Buckingham palace and the Queen tries to use and to put all of her presents there. It is situated on the mall avenue.

- Look at the next slide. What is this in the slide?

-That is the avenue. This avenue is wide. It used for royal processions runs from Trafalgar square to Buckingham palace through St. James park.

3.( the picture of Albert Hall)

-What kind of hall is it?

– That is The royal Albert Hall. That is a very large concert hall where the best musicians of the world perform classical music. In front of the Albert hall there is a monument to Prince Albert built by Queen Victoria.


4. (Hadrian`s Wall



It is a Hadrian`s wall. It built by stone. A stone built across the north of England by the order of the Roman ruler Hadrian to defend the Northern border of Roman

from the Scottish tribes. Many tourists come over especially to look at the ruins of Hadrian`s Wall.


5.Trafalgar Square



It is the most beautiful place in London. In the middle of the square stands a tall column. It is a monument to Admiral Nelson. Four bronze lions look at the square from the monument. There are two beautiful fountains in the square. They are in front of the National Gallery which is one of the best picture galleries of the world.

6.BigBen.



It is a Big Ben. It is a large clock. You can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London. The clock and the Bell got their names after Sir Benjamin Hall. He was a tall man whose nickname was Big Ben. So people the know clock as Big Ben.

7. Westminster Abbey



It is Westminster Abbey. It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. It is very old too. It is more than nine hundred years old. There are so many monuments and statues there. Many English kings and queens are buried there. Westminster Abbey is famous for the Poet`s Corner too. Many great writers are buried there. For example Charles Dickens and Rudyard Kipling.

8. St. Paul`s Cathedral.

It is St. Paul`s Cathedral. It is one of the greatest English churches. It is situated not far from the Tower of London. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17 th century after the great fire. It look him 35 years.

9. Hyde Park and Regent`s Park.

They are parks. One of it Hyde Park and Regent`s Park. They are open to the public free of charge. Each park has its own character. Hyde Park used to be a hunting forest. Regent`s Park was also a hunting place and is now the home of London Zoo and open-air theatre which gives performances of Shakespeare`s plays in summer.

Now I am going to ask you some questions about Royal family. I ask for you to be attentive and try to give me good concrete answer. Now listen to them.

Let`s consolidate about Royal family by playing a game. When you see this diagram and read the headline what come to your mind.

- About the members of the family. For example Henry YIII, Elizabeth I, Victoria, Elizabeth II.

- Ok, let`s play the game. Who is the best quick-witted. Who wants to join this game? I want to play with 4 students.

1.King Henry YIII was born in 1491 in Greenwich Palace was died in 1547. Most people remember him only because he had six wives. Their names are Catherine of Aragon. Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleve, Catherine Howard, Catherine Parr. But in fact he was a very important monarch. Under him Britain became independent of the Roman Catholic church, it got richer and more powerful. In 1534 Parliament named Henry head of the Church of England and gave the King all the power in the country.

2.Elizabeth I lived between 1533 — 1603. She was the daughter of King Henry. She became the Queen in 1558. She never married and is remembered as a very popular and strong queen. She is known for saying “I know I have the body of a week and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a King….” During her reign England became very important in European politics, the Spanish Armada was defeated, arts and especially the theatre developed and the country

became very powerful.

3.Queen Victoria was born 1819. She came to the throne as a young woman in 1837. In that day she was 18 years old. She reigned until her death in 1901. Her monument is situated in front of Buckingham palace. She ruled for the largest period in the English history for 64 years. Victoria married a German, Prince Albert, But he died at the age of forty two in 1861. That was a great tragedy for queen Victoria. She had nine children, five sons and four daughters. The family life of Queen Victoria touched people`s hearts. During her reign Britain became a rich industrial country with a developed trade, an empire with a lot of colonies.

4. Elizabeth II was born in 1926, in Windsor. She was married. Her husband is Prince Philip. She has four children. She is on the British throne now.


YI. Presentation of Elizabeth II.

Presentation of Elizabeth II who has governing country. So students will tell her childhood, youth life when she was queen, her life in present time.

Child.

1.I was born in Windsor on 21 April 1926. My full name is Elizabeth Mary Alexander Windsor. But my mother called me Lilibet. It is my pet name. I am educating at home. My mother and my father teach me to read and to write. I am studying Latin, Geography, Economics, Music. I know foreign languages. I can speak French very well. My hobby is horse — riding. I am good at it. I like dancing, swimming. I take part in swimming competitions. I live in Windsor and Buckingham palace with my parents.

Young Lady.

2.I made my first speech on the radio in 1940 during the war. I wanted to help the army, that`s why I grew vegetables and knitted socks for soldiers. I learn to drive and married Prince Philip in 1947. Prince Charles is my first son. He was born in 1948.

Young Queen.

3.I came to the throne in 1952. It was crowned in Westminster Abbey in London on 2 June 1953. I made my first Christmas speech to my nation in 1957 from that year. I made my speech every year because it is traditional.

Now.

4.I play an important role in my country. I travel a lot. I have four children. Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Edward. I like reading, taking pictures, watching horse races. I have five official residences in Britain, Buckingham Palace in London and Windsor Castle near London among them.

YII. Additional information about Elizabeth`s II family.

Now among we have a guest. Volunteer of Philippians. Her name is Ms. Marisa. Now we would like Ms. Marisa to tell us about the Queens life. What do you know about British royal family of nowadays? What can you include for us expect you have heard.
