To buy food

Aims: to check and revise words of the theme “Food”;to develop writing, reading and oral speech; to develop interest.

Objects:

-to teach to use new words in speech;to improve pronunciation of new words.

-to revise words of 5 grade and repeat grammar structures;

-to teach children to communicate and work in groups.

Aids: cards, pictures and photos on active board,illustrations and toys.

Plan of the lesson.

1.Greetings.

-Good morning! I’m glad to see you! How are you? Who is on duty today? Who is absent? What day is it today? What day was yesterday? What day will be tomorrow? What is the weather today?

-Tell me, please, do you like shopping? Do you go to the shop for buying food every day? What food do you buy?

-Today our theme is “Food”. We’ll revise words of this theme from 5 grade, get acquainted with new words, work with some interesting exercises and work with a crossword. If you’re successful in it we’ll play a game. Are you ready?.

2.Warm- up.

At first I want to show you some pictures .Answer my questions, please.

-What is this? What do you see?(It’s a bike. I can see tomatoes, Bulgarian peppers ,nut and green onion )

-What is this?(It’s pizza.)

-What are these?(These are tomatoes, carrots, Bulgarian peppers,chilly,onions… )

-What are these? (These are strawberries, cherries, melons,lemons)

3.Working with new words.

-Now, I’ll show you a list of words and you should point the word that you don’t know.

Bread,butter,hamburger, cheeseburger,pizza,pie,ham,sausages,meat,fish,onion, carrot. cabbage, pepper, salt, sweets, cookies, coke, lemonade, cake, bisquits, sugar,milk,tea,bread,coffee,juice,mineral water,salad,cornflakes,chips,garlic.

4. Working with new exercises:

1.Make sentences with new words.

I like fish.My family likes to eat cornflakes. I hate onion.Don’t eat cakes, you have to keep a diet!

2.Make a dialogue.

-What is your favourite food?

-My favourite food is fried potatoes.Do you like vegetables?

-Yes,but I don’t like onion and garlic.

3.Draw a picture of your favourite fruit and describe it.

I like kiwi. It’s brown and green inside. I think it’s very useful fruit.it helps you from heart attack. I like how it smells.

5.Working with a crossword. Find words.

6.Hometask

Write an essay about food.
